All emissions associated with production, distribution and disposal of BioPak products are offset through the Carbon Reduction Institute and the purchase of carbon credits. 44,669 tons since 2010.

Natureworks LLC

We use bioplastics made by US based Natureworks LLC. They provide a family of commercially available biopolymers derived from 100% annually renewable resources with cost and performance to compete with petroleum-based packaging, marketed under name Ingeo.

Australian Packaging Convenant Signatory

The APC is a sustainable packaging initiative which aims to change the culture of business to design more sustainable packaging, increase recycling rates and reduce packaging litter. It is an agreement between government, industry and community groups to find and fund solutions to address packaging sustainability issues. Through the APC, BioPak has agreed take a leading role in managing the impact of its packaging.

NZ Public Place Recycling Scheme Member

There is increasing pressure on companies from the community and local and central government to address the end-of-life impacts of packaging through product stewardship. The Waste Minimisation Act provides a framework for voluntary (and if necessary mandatory) product stewardship and having accreditation helps provide protection for industry against regulation.

SEDEX Member

Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, is a not-for-profit membership organisation dedicated to driving improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains.

Retailers, consumer brands, governments and NGOs are under constant pressure to monitor and understand their supply chains. Revelations of unfair or unsafe labour practices, corruption, or environmental negligence in the supply chain can damage a company’s reputation and lead to a loss of revenue. Sedex is an important tool for sharing good practice and helping to drive environmental and social improvements in the supply chain.

Australasian BioPlastics Association Member

An association dedicated to promoting plastics that are biodegradable, compostable and based on renewable resources.

To keep abreast of developments in testing protocols, standards, certification schemes and product developments, whilst also ensuring we abide by the code of conduct whereby we undertake to accurately and ethically label and represent the properties and performance of our products.

Sustainable Event Alliance Member

Sustainable Event Alliance (SEA), is an association which aims to inspire events, organisers, venues and supply chains to be as sustainable as possible and to establish Australia as a sustainable event destination. The SEA helps to resource those who wish to expand their current sustainability practice, or those who are at the start of their journey, to improved sustainability performance. They encourage all sectors of the industry to play their part in Australia being recognised as a sustainable event destination.

Australian Institute of Packaging Member

The Australian Institute of Packaging is the professional body designed to cater for packaging technologists, engineers, designers and any other individuals who are a part of the packaging industry in Australasia. The primary function of the Institute is to offer education, training, and personal and professional development for individuals within the packaging industry; as well as cross-functional networking opportunities.

AORA Member

The Australian Organics Recycling Association (AORA) works on behalf of its members to raise awareness of the benefits of recycling organic resources. It aims to act as an advocate for the wider organics resource recovery and beneficial reuse industries and to represent their views in a constructive dialogue with policy makers. The Association envisages an industry in which best practice is shared, standards are maintained and surpassed, and makes a positive contribution to safeguarding the environment. 

Global Footprint Network

Global Footprint Network is an international think tank working to advance sustainability through use of the Ecological Footprint, a resource accounting tool that measures how much nature we have, and how much we use.
